Classic dog collars

All dogs are different and vary in their size. Here is a general guideline to fit your dog appropriately for a dog collar. For a proper fit, measure your dog’s neck with a cloth seamstress tape measure.

– Pull the tape snug but not tight  where the collar would normally sit;
– A correctly selected collar will be the one whose distance from the edge of the buckle to the middle hole is equal to the circumference of the neck.

Martingale collar

– Pull the tape snug but not tight  where the collar would normally sit (B);
– Now you need to measure a head size (A). Measure he widest area of your dog’s head. Usually just in front or behind its ears.

A correctly selected martingale collar must be able to slip over the dog’s head, but not slip back over when the smal ring is taught. So the right size of the martingale collar (the length of the big loop) will be the circumference of the head minus 1\2 of your dog’s skull width.
